Digital Realty Acquires 1,440 Acres Near Kansas City for $475 Million Hyperscale Development

Digital Realty purchased approximately 1,440 acres at Astra Enterprise Park near Kansas City for roughly $475 million in cash and operating partnership units to support hyperscale data center development.

Digital Realty acquired approximately 1,440 acres of land at Astra Enterprise Park near Kansas City for approximately $475 million in cash and common units in its operating partnership, the company announced June 22. The transaction expands the data center REIT's hyperscale development capacity into a new metro market.

The Kansas City land purchase is part of a broader series of transactions announced simultaneously to bolster three growth pillars: hyperscale capacity expansion, colocation portfolio growth through the purchase of certain minority shareholder stakes in Teraco, and scaling of its Strategic Private Capital platform through the acquisition of Columbia Capital, a digital infrastructure investment firm. Digital Realty disclosed the transactions in a press release but did not provide purchase prices for the Teraco stakes or Columbia Capital.
