The appointment ends a period of uncertainty at the top of Heineken, which has operated without a permanent CEO since its previous leader departed [1]. Oliveira brings experience from the food and beverage sector, having led JDE Peet's through a period that included its combination with Keurig Dr Pepper to form a global coffee business [2]. In that transaction, Oliveira was named CEO of the future combined entity [2].
